Frederick W. London, 79, of West Chester, Pennsylvania, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the Chester Count y Hospital. He was the husband of Emily G. Jones London with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.

Born, September 26, 1930 in West Chester, PA he was the son of the late Frederick E. and Ellen E. London. After 35 years of employment, he retired from the Lukens Steel Mills, of Coatesville, PA. Following his retirement from Lukens, he was employed by the West Chester Area School District for 15 years. Fred was a veteran of the United States Army and a POW of the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on October 1, 1953.

In his spare time, Fred was an avid fan of the local high school and college sports programs. He passionately enjoyed attending area football and basketball games. Fred was honored during half time of a basketball game at Henderson Sr. High School in recognition of his dedication. In addition, he loved to go deep-sea fishing and hunting.

He was a loving father to William P. London, "Perry", Dawn L. London of West Chester, PA and Erin D. London of Ashburn, VA. Fred is survived by two sisters, Geraldine Richardson and Elizabeth Thorne of West Chester, PA and three brothers John London of Charlotte, NC; Robert London (Helen) of Gradyville, GA; and George London of West Chester, PA.

In addition to his wife and children, he is also survived by two granddaughters, Zumehka Kennedy (Stephen) and Tashara Wesley, both of West Chester, PA; three great grandsons, Aamir, Aaron and Ashon Wesley, also of West Chester, PA, an Aunt, Sara Atley of West Chester, sister-in-law, Ethel J. Smith; brother-in-law, Joseph H. Jones, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service 11 am Friday April 23, 2010 at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith and Boyd Funeral Home Inc 410 North Church St. West Chester 610-696-1181 www.DellaFH.com. Visitation will be 9-11 am Friday April 23, 2010 at the Funeral Home. Interment with Military Honors will take place at the Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer, PA
