Charles Robert Turney of West Chester.

Charles Robert Turney, 89 of West Chester, died Monday, May 15, 2017 at Wellington Terrace in West Chester.

He was the husband of the late Patricia Handley Turney and the late Martha Jacobs Turney.

Born February 2, 1928 in Akron, OH, he was the son of the late Harold Charles Turney and the late Janet Durbin Turney.

Bob received his BS in Business Administration from Akron University in 1951.

During the first half of his career, Bob was a Personnel Executive specializing in Labor Negotiations for Lee Tire, Firestone Tire, and Sealtest Foods.  He negotiated Sealtest’s first minority labor agreement in the 1960’s directly with the late Dr. Martin Luther King in Cleveland, OH, Providing the basis for the Company’s Affirmative Action Plans.  During the second half of his career, Bob was V.P. and General Manager of Algar Enterprises and Chinetti Garthwaite Imports, where he was the east coast distributor of fine Italian Automobiles, including Ferrari.

He was a beloved grandpa.

Survived by his two sons, Robert E. (Sharon), Randall J. (Merrie); 5 grandchildren, Lisa Crawford (Eric), Carolyn Werner (Christopher), Amanda Mosko (late Christopher), Jocelyn Bradshaw (Tyler) and William Turney.  Also, survived by 3 great grandchildren, Sophie Crawford, Eliza Werner and C.J Werner.

Predeceased by his brother, William Turney.

Services and Interment will be private.
