Miriam H. Gallagher

Miriam H. Gallagher of West Chester, PA passed away on January 26, 2017. Miriam had been a resident of Sunrise Senior Living, West Chester PA. She was 88 years old.

She was married to the late Philip T. Gallagher. Miriam passed away on what would have been the 60th wedding anniversary of her marriage to Philip. The family feels it is fitting that they were rejoined after 9 long years of separation.

Born September 30, 1928 in Philadelphia, PA she was the daughter of the late James E. Hunt and the late Florence V. Cotton Hunt. Miriam was preceded in death by her brothers James Hunt, John Hunt and George Hunt.

Miriam graduated from Haverford High School in 1947. She then attended the Tyler Business School and graduated with degree in Business Administration.

Miriam had worked at Brown Brothers and Harriman from 1948-1957. She was later employed by National Liberty Insurance Company in Malvern, PA from 1970-1976. Miriam became co-owner of Frame World in Frazer, PA with her husband and other family members from 1976-1996. She was a member of the Professional Framers Association.

Miriam loved spending her summers with her family at her beach house on Long Beach Island, NJ. She loved art, music (especially Frank Sinatra, who she saw perform live at the Tower Theater as a teenager) and was an avid reader.

She is survived by her daughters Mernie Gallagher-Cole, Barbara Voltz, and her grandchildren Glenna Cole, Bridget Voltz, Ian Cole, and Audrey Voltz.

Our beloved MeMe will never be forgotten by those who were blessed to know her.

Services and interment will be private.
