John Matthew "Matt" Treston Jr. of West Chester.

John Matthew "Matt" Treston Jr., 72 of West Chester, PA died Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at home.

He was the husband of Patricia A. Scheibe Treston, with whom he recently celebrated their 50th year Golden Wedding Anniversary.

Born May 2, 1943 in West Chester, PA he was the son of the late John Matthew Treston Sr. and the late Mary Phenneger Treston.

Matt was a lifelong resident of West Chester and a member of St. Agnes Church.

He was a graduate of West Chester High School, Class of 1961.

Matt was a self-employed Electrical Contractor.

Matt was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1333 of West Chester and a 4th Degree Member of the Chester County Assembly #1873. Matt was a past member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #908 of West Chester.

He was an avid Phillies fan and small game hunter. He enjoyed raising beagles and pigeon racing.

Matt loved spending time with his family at the shore in Stone Harbor, NJ.

In addition to his wife, Matt is survived by his children, Dr. Sharon L. Treston-Magnacca (Scott) of Milford, MA, Christopher T. Treston (Laura) of Malvern; 7 grandchildren; siblings Maryellen McClain (Terry) of Charlotte, NC, Michael Treston (Maureen) and Arthur Treston (Patti) both of West Chester. Also, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John Matthew Treston III.

Family and Friends are invited to his Funeral Mass at 10:00 am Saturday, October 3, 2015 at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St., West Chester, PA 19380.

Interment will be held in St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Malvern Preparatory School, Development Office, 418 S. Warren Ave., Malvern, PA 19355.
