Era's cousins and friends have said that she "leaves a void in the universe" and that she was an amazing and kind woman. How very true. Era and Dale were so kind and patient with me when I was a birding "newbie", helping me to identify by sight and sound so many birds on our many trips. That was thirty years ago! My sincere condolences to Dale and his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as well as Era's many cousins. I loved being with her; I loved Era. God Bless her family in their mourning.

Aunt Era was a very interesting person and a tremendous role model. She taught the world how to love and appreciate the beauty nature has to offer. We loved to read about all of her wildlife observations in her writings. It was fun when she and Uncle Dale came to Cleveland and we would visit with them. They would always have interesting travel stories to share. Aunt Era will be greatly missed.
