William A. O'Connell of West Chester, PA

William A. O'Connell, 72, of West Chester, died Sunday, January 12, 2020 at the Coatesville VA Medical Center surrounded by friends and family.

He was the husband of Vicki Green O'Connell.

Born February 17, 1947 in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late Timothy O'Connell and the late Marguerite Stuckart O'Connell.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister Kathy and predeceased by his siblings Marie and Tim. Also surviving Bill are his children, William (Ted) and Shannon O'Connell, niece Kelly Schetzel, nephew Timothy Zabawa, and two grandchildren, Colton and Landon.

Bill served in the US Army including a tour in Vietnam.

He graduated from Montgomery County Community College and attended Widener University.

Bill’s eclectic career included computer industry positions at Unisys, varied computer consulting positions, and owning Chester County Camera in West Chester. His final position was as Vice President at Vision Auto Group in Reading.

Bill was active in many organizations including the Riesentoter Chapter of the Porsche Club of America, where he served as president several times, the Radnor Concours of which he was a founding member, and the Audi Club of America.

Bill's interests and his passions, where he was amazingly well-versed, were cars, watches, computers, cameras, and travel. He particularly enjoyed his travels to Ireland, Greece, Le Mans,

and the Monaco Grand Prix. Bill was proud of the time he spent volunteering for his various charities, especially the Thorncroft Equestrian Center. One of his friends noted he was the “Go to Guy” in all of these areas.

Services and Interment will be private.
