William T. Dannenberg, 73 of West Chester, PA passed away Monday December 9, 2024 at his home.
He was the husband of Joy A. Dannenberg (Wenstrup).
Born April 20, 1951 in Wilmington, DE he was the son of the late Charles Dannenberg and the late Margaret Kidd Dannenberg.
William grew up in West Chester, PA and graduated from B. Reed Henderson High School. He went on to attend The University of Delaware where he was an integral member of their men's soccer team as a forward and team captain. He had a career 23 goals and 15 assists, and was recognized with All Region and All Conference honors. He continued his athletic career playing for the Delaware Wings in the American Soccer League.
He worked as a Freelance TV Cameraman for over 30 years, covering sports and events, his favorite being Major League Soccer and the US Men’s National Soccer Team. Some special events he worked on included the 2008 World Series and 2010 Stanley Cup. He also loved shooting the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade every year.
William was a member of Radley Run Country club where he enjoyed golfing, cooking classes, and dining with his family. On any given day you could find him watching soccer, spending time at the beach in Avalon, NJ with his family, sailing with his friends, reading history novels, tinkering at his farm, acquiring old cars, caring for his golden retrievers, strumming his guitar, and enjoying the company of his family.
In addition to his wife, Joy, he is survived by their three children, Kevin Dannenberg, Julie Kraus (Dannenberg) and husband Knute Kraus, and Gregory Dannenberg and wife Brittany Dannenberg (Myers); grandson Kane Kraus; brother Charles Dannenberg and wife Anne Dannenberg (Bowen).
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday, December 20, 2024 from 10:00 am - 10:45 am at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 North Church Street West Chester, PA 19380 followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 am.
Interment will be in Birmingham Lafayette Cemetery West Chester PA.
