Virginia N. Simon, 73 of Bethany Beach, DE passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday December 28, 2024 at her Son's Residence in Downingtown.
She was the beloved wife of Robert Dennis Simon.
Born October 28, 1951 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Francis William Newburg and the late Geraldine Estelle Newburg.
Virginia grew up in Clifton Heights, PA and graduated from Clifton Heights High School where she was captain of the cheerleading team and was awarded Most Valuable Player in Women’s Basketball.
She has worked in many clerical roles but was most proud of her time working at QVC.
She loved family parties, especially her Christmas Eve party that she threw every year. She also enjoyed game nights, gathering with friends, and spending her summers swimming in the pool with her children and grandchildren. She had a great love for the beach, spending most of her years on Long Beach Island and Bethany Beach. She enjoyed traveling, especially going on long Cruises and trips to Disney World. She had an amazing and infectious laugh that her family and friends were lucky to hear often. She enjoyed long phone conversations with her close friends, sometimes spanning many hours. Most of all, she loved family time and spoiling her grandchildren who will all treasure the memories they had with their Grandmom.
Virginia is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert Dennis Simon, son, Kurt (Erin) Simon, son, Jeffrey (Christina) Simon, grandchildren, Alexis, Makayla, Max, Reagan, Chase and Cameron; brothers, Francis (Peggy Ann) Newburg and William Newburg.
Services and Interment will be private.
