Virginia Cook Robinson of West Chester.

Virginia (Ginny) Cook Robinson, 78 of West Chester, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Park Lane at Bellingham West Chester.

Born in Westtown, and raised in Chadds Ford, she was the daughter of the late Francis Cook and the late Bessie Cook Cheyney.

She lived in West Chester for many years prior to her passing.

She graduated from Kennett High School in 1954 and still remained friends with many of those who attended Kennett with her.

As a young lady, Ginny was a member of Brandywine Baptist Church where she taught Sunday and Bible School. She also sang in the choir.

In the 70's, Ginny was active in the West Side Little League. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the VFW Post # 106.

Ginny retired from the Adult Probation Office of Chester County as a Secretary and worked part time as an Associate at Wawa.

Ginny enjoyed doing needlework, reading, listening to country and gospel music. She also travelled; having visited all but two of the States. She enjoyed going to lunch once a month with her friends.

Ginny was loved by those friends and her neighbors.

She is survived by her sisters, Mabel Romanowski of Oxford, PA, and Maryalice Moore of Columbia, SC. Ginny is survived by many nieces and nephews and had many "adopted" grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Jane Wylie, Grace Slider, Marie Ruoss, and brother Jesse Cook.

Relatives and Friends are invited to her Funeral Service 11 am Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the Brandywine Baptist Church 1436 Baltimore Pike Chadds Ford, where visitation will begin at 9am.

Interment is private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children c/o Development 3551 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140and/or Wentworth Home 112 S. Church St. West Chester, PA 19382.
