Thomas D. Roche, 92, of Collingdale, PA passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Lankenau Medical Center in Wynnewood, PA.
Thomas, the oldest of two children, was born on December 23, 1932 in Philadelphia, PA and was the son of the late Thomas D. and Helen V. (Appello) Roche. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Marcella (Gasper) Roche.
Thomas was a graduate of West Catholic High School and served in the United States Army. He obtained an engineering degree from Drexel University and worked as a mechanical engineer for many years. Thomas was an avid Philadelphia Flyers fan, a high school basketball referee, and a fishing enthusiast. In later years, he enjoyed playing chess on-line within the European community.
Thomas is survived by a daughter, Theresa (Robert) of Romansville, PA; three sons, Thomas of Ashburn, VA; James of Aldan, PA; Michael of Warren County, NJ and three grandchildren (Thomas, Emily, and Sophia). Thomas is also survived by his sister, Patricia (Roche) Mescanti, of Kennett Square and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Saint Agnes Catholic Church located at 233 West Gay Street in West Chester, PA. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM with the Mass immediately following at 11:00 AM. A private burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Saint Agnes Day Room at 233 West Gay Street in West Chester, PA.
