Thomas E. Fitzgerald

Thomas E. Fitzgerald, 86, of West Chester, passed away on August 28, 2026. He was born on February 2, 1940, to the late John J. Fitzgerald and Elizabeth Matlack Fitzgerald.

Thomas was the beloved husband of Gail Sheller Fitzgerald, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Timothy M. Fitzgerald and his partner, Laurie Roe; his daughter, Michelle Walker, wife of Mark; and his granddaughters, Nicole Walker and Ashley Walker. He was predeceased by his brother, John “Bob” Fitzgerald and his sister, Barbara Rhodes.

Thomas was a lifelong resident of West Chester. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and remained a proud Marine throughout his life.

Thomas worked as a carpenter for most of his life, including 25 years at West Chester University.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 12:00 PM at VFW Post 106 in West Chester, all are invited.
