Terry Lee Courtney

Terry Lee Courtney, 80, of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2026, surrounded by family at Freedom Village at Brandywine.

Born October 13, 1945, he was the son of the late Grace Margaret (Weaver) and Russell Lee Courtney. Although an only child himself, he grew up surrounded by family as his mother was one of 12.  He learned the values of hard work, discipline, family, and caring for others. He was raised in Lock Haven PA, where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Billie Virginia Ann (Myers).

Following his graduation from Lock Haven High School in 1963, he went on to earn an Associate Degree in Tool Design from the Williamsport Area Community College in 1966.  After graduation, he served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1966-1968 and then as part of the Army Reserves from 1968-1972.

He worked as an engineer at numerous locations over the years including Smith Corona, Qyx, Unisys, and Lockheed Martin.  He spent the last 15 years of his career as an Electrical Engineer at Boeing and retired in 2013.

Terry expressed his love through acts of service and reliability.  He taught his three children the value of hard work, resilience, self-sufficiency, and helping others. He enjoyed renovating and maintaining his home, tending his garden, and cheering on the Phillies.

Terry enjoyed spending time visiting Cape May and Williamsburg. He shared his life with many dogs over the years, but had a special bond with Tucker, his goldendoodle, who joined the family upon Terry’s retirement.

One of Terry’s greatest joys was becoming “Pop” to his first granddaughter, Mackenzie. He treasured that season of life and continued to delight in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as his family grew.

He leaves behind Billie, his wife of 58 years; daughter Jaime Lee Regener (Steve); sons Brent Robert (Elizabeth) and Brooks Andrew (Jennifer); grandchildren Mackenzie, Alexa, Hailey, Abigail, Lily, Erich, William, and Zachary; great grandchildren Adelynn and Reese; and his faithful companion Tucker.  We will miss his steady presence, his sharp wit, and his unwavering reliability.

Terry’s disciplined spirit, generous heart, and the lessons he shared will live on in all who knew and loved him.
