Ted R. Newell, 79 of West Chester, PA passed away Thursday September 2, 2021 at Chester County Hospital.
He was the husband of Vickey Forrest Newell.
Born August 31, 1942 in Mount Pleasant, MI he was the son of the late Clifford Newell and the late Minnie Grace.
Ted grew up in Mount Pleasant Michigan, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Berkley, and a Master’s Degree from the University of Pennsylvania for Architecture. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1962-1968 on nuclear submarines.
He worked as an Architect for many years and became a principal at Ewing Cole, where he earned numerous awards for architectural projects.
He was a member of the Elks Club, on the board of the Society of American Registered Architects, and was a member of other professional organizations such as the American Institute of Architects, American Association of Blood Banks, National Council of Registered Architects, National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, Association of Licensed Architects, and the Clinical Laboratory Management Association. He also authored articles in Medical Laboratory Management Magazine.
Ted enjoyed spending time with his family and friends in West Chester and Montana. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends in Magnus karate, where he earned a brown belt. His other hobbies included traveling and camping, fishing, playing pedal steel guitar, woodworking, and working in his garden. One of his favorite things was to sit on his porch observing the wildlife, with his loving dog Morkie, and his loving wife Vickey.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter, Sonya Newell (Joseph) Hash, son, Jeffery (Kelley) Newell; brother, Jim (Faye) Newell, brother, Bill (Linda) Newell, brother, Charles (Dawn) Newell, brother, Clifford (Diane) Newell, brother, David (Karen) Newell, brother, Robert Newell (Ray Cruse) and grandchildren, Joey, Ben, Adrianna & Ethan.
