Susan B. Greenwood passed away peacefully from natural causes on February 26, 2026. She was 95 years old.
Sue was born on August 9, 1930, in Akron, Ohio. She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Richard Greenwood; her daughter, Patricia; and her granddaughter, Kathryn. She is survived by her children, Meg, Jim, and David; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
After graduating from Bryn Mawr College, Sue married Richard and devoted herself to raising their family while serving her community. She was deeply committed to volunteerism, she was an early member of Meals on Wheels and later serving with the Chester County Hospital Westtown Auxiliary Committee. She also participated in Chester County Days and volunteered at the Chester County Hospital front desk until 2017.
Sue began attending the Church of the Holy Trinity in 1962 and remained an active and devoted member for decades. Over the years, she participated in Trinity Stitchers and Lenten Breakfasts and served as both an usher and greeter, welcoming parishioners with warmth and kindness.
Travel was one of Sue’s great joys. Having grown up in Niagara Falls, she frequently crossed into Canada, where her early love of collecting dolls sparked a lifelong passion for international travel. Together, Sue and Richard traveled extensively throughout Europe, Russia, Asia, India, Africa, Scandinavia, Australia, and New Zealand.
Sue also loved to read and complete puzzles of all kinds, from crosswords to jigsaw puzzles. An avid bridge player, she participated in regular bridge games until 2025. She was also a talented quilter, generously donating many handmade items to her church’s holiday bazaar and creating cherished gifts for family members.
As we bid farewell to Sue, we celebrate a life defined by devotion to family, faith, and service. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched and in the memories lovingly shared by those who knew her.
