In Loving Memory of Susan Bruno

Susan Bruno, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 31, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family.

Susan was born on June 13, 1957 to Gilbert & Carol Martinelli in Collingdale, PA. After graduating from Bishop Shanahan High School in 1975, where she was active in Cheerleading and the National Honors Society, she went to Bryn Mawr Hospital School of Radiologic Technology. She devoted 35 years of her life to caring for others as an MRI Technologist, a career that reflected the compassion, strength, and dedication she brought to everything she did. She married her high school sweetheart, Victor Bruno, in 1980, and together they shared almost 46 wonderful years of marital BLISS.

Susan’s happiest moments were often the simplest ones. She loved watching her grandchildren and treasured every moment she could spend with them. She found peace and happiness in her garden, tending to her plants and watching the birds & animals that visited. She loved traveling on cruises, was a devoted Philadelphia Phillies fan, loved watching College Basketball, she volunteered at Fame Fire Company raising money, and so much more.

But above all else, Susan was a family woman. Her family was her greatest joy and the center of her world. She was the devoted & loving wife of Victor, the devoted mother of Monica Herrman (Ryan Herrman), and the adoring grandmother of Mason (10) and Brooklyn (9). She is also survived by her sister Carolyn Gale (Bill), her brother Gilbert Martinelli (Sarah Shutt), as well as her beloved niece, nephews, extended family, and countless friends who were lucky enough to know and love her. 

For her husband & daughter, she was not just simply their wife & mother. She was their rock, their safe place. Although Susan is no longer here to hold her family’s hands, her love will remain with them—in their hearts, in their memories, and in the pieces of herself she gave to each person she loved.

May she finally rest peacefully, knowing how deeply she was loved and how many lives she made brighter simply by being in them.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Saturday, September 5, 2026 from 10-11:45am at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 N. Church St. West Chester, PA 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com, followed by her Funeral Service at 12 Noon. Interment will be held at the St. Agnes Cemetery.
