Susan C. Ahlstrom, 77, of Kennett Square, passed away peacefully in her home on October 16, 2025. She was born on June 13, 1948, in Hyannis, Massachusetts, and was affectionately known to those close to her as Susie.
She grew up in the West Chester area and attended Linden Hall School before continuing her education at Denver University. She worked at the Westtown School for ten years and, for the past thirty years, devoted herself to caring for P. Dupont and family.
She was known for her fun, easygoing spirit and her warm, welcoming nature. A devoted animal lover, Susie was rarely without a dog by her side and shared her love of animals with many. She was also passionate about horses and found great joy in spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed good food, a nice glass of wine, and the simple pleasure of sharing both in good company. A gracious host, Susie loved entertaining and cooking for others, always filling her home with laughter and warmth. She will be fondly remembered for her festive Christmas parties.
Susie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Christina Glauner; her grandsons, Ryan and Dylan Glauner; her sister, Deborah Ahlstrom; her stepbrothers, Mac, David, and Paul Porter; and her former husband and friend, George Glauner. She was preceded in death by her father, John Ahlstrom; her mother, Virginia Thurston Ahlstrom; and her stepmother, Doris Porter Ahlstrom.
She will be remembered fondly for her gentle heart, her laughter, and the love she gave freely to all who knew her.
Relatives and close friends are invited to attend her visitation on Saturday, November 8th, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 410 N. Church St. West Chester, Pennsylvania.
Services and Interment will be private
