Stephen Jerome “Jerry” Williams, of West Chester, Pennsylvania, passed away on February 10, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.
Jerry was the devoted husband of Norma Williams; a loving father to Erin Carlson, Stephen Williams, and Kristin Henry (Matt); and a proud grandfather to Alyssa Carlson (Jake), Emily Medrano (Esau), and Aanijah Henry. He was also blessed to be a great-grandfather to Javier Medrano. He is survived by his sisters Mary Ann Dominiak, Bert Casey, and Kathleen Bittle; his sister-in-law Barbara Williams; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Paul, Pat, George, Phillip, and Joseph Michael.
Raised in Osceola Mills, Pennsylvania, Jerry pursued higher education at Juniata College, earning his Bachelor of Science degree, and completed his master’s degree in mathematics education at Temple University. He dedicated his life to teaching, coaching, and serving others. Jerry began and concluded his long career in Marple Newtown School District, where he taught both basic and advanced mathematics and helped shape generations of students through patience, rigor, and genuine care. His efforts were rewarded with the Marple Newtown Education Association Teacher of the Year award in 1990. He also taught mathematics at Delaware County Community College.
In addition to the classroom, Jerry made an enduring impact as a coach, leading wrestling and track and field in the Marple Newtown School District. He took immense pride in the achievements of his students and athletes, and his lifelong dedication was honored with his induction into the Marple Newtown Athletic Hall of Fame.
Jerry’s support for young people extended far beyond school. He was a steadfast and enthusiastic presence in his children’s lives—attending concerts, recitals, and plays with pride and encouragement.
A faithful member of St. Agnes Parish, Jerry generously gave his time and talents throughout his life in support of his church, school, and community. He also believed deeply in the value of physical health and daily exercise, and after retirement he especially enjoyed his regular workouts at the YMCA.
