Stephen A. Black

Stephen A. Black, 74 of Coatesville, PA passed away Tuesday January 20, 2026 at Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA.

He was the husband of Barbara Bruno Black for 45 years.

Born May 1, 1951 in West Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Francis H. and Alice J. Black.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Paul (Sarah), Chris (Whitney), Katy (Marshall), and Philip (Colleen); his three granddaughters, Mackenzie, Lily and Clara; and his brother, William Black of Watkinsville, GA.

Steve grew up in West Chester and graduated from Henderson High School. He later moved to Coatesville where he raised his family.

Steve enjoyed watching his kids play sports, coaching their teams and umpiring baseball.

He enjoyed working on cars and fixing things. He loved watching the Fortescue 4th of July Parade with family and friends.  He cherished time spent fishing and watching sunsets.

Steve instilled values of hard work and honesty in his kids. He worked in trucking for many years: from owner-operator to sanitation.

Services will be private.
