Sinclair Agnew Adam, Jr., 67 of Coatesville, PA died Sunday April 9, 2023, at Chester County Hospital in West Chester.
He was the husband of Kirsten M. Davidson Adam.
Born August 5,1955 in Hartford, CT he was the son of the late Sinclair Agnew Adam, Sr. and the late Margaret Louise Everett Adam.
Sinclair grew up in West Chester, Pennsylvania and graduated from the University of Wyoming and then received his Master’s Degree in Plant and Soil Science from the University of Vermont, where he met Kirsten.
Sinclair began his career in horticulture at Waterloo Gardens in Exton, PA. He worked for the Brandywine Conservancy, and then Greenleaf Nurseries until 1989. That year he established Dunvegan Nursery, which he co-owned with Kirsten for 23 years. He was an Adjunct Professor at Temple University for 5 years. He loved to mentor the many students who passed through his door. He worked as a Floricultural Extension Educator at Penn State for 9 years a Master Gardener Coordinator, and as Director of the PSU Flower Trials in Landisville.
Sinclair enjoyed gardening, sailing, exploring nature, reading, and was a lover of history.
He is survived by his daughter, Erika Leigh Adam, a brother, Alexander Adam, his wife Wendy Sue and their daughter Brittany, and a sister, Margaret Adam. He was preceded in death by his nephew, Jeffrey McLeod Adam.
