Sharon Ann (Shultz) Colley, 74, of Downingtown, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, November 2nd, leaving a deep void in the hearts of all who loved her. Born September 24, 1951, in New Oxford, PA, she was the daughter of the late Dale and Evelyn Shultz and a member of New Oxford High School’s Class of 1969. In 1972, her brothers’ football coach moved into the vacant apartment next door, and the rest is history. Sharon and Mike moved to Downingtown, where they raised their daughters, Gina and Kara, at Paradise Farm Camps. Sharon loved being a mother to her girls.
Sharon was a loyal and dedicated worker who spent over 30 years with West Chester Pediatric Associates/CHOP Care Network in office management and administration. Beyond her professional calling, she was an enthusiastic volunteer with a generous spirit and ever-ready willingness to help others.
Always active, Sharon walked 10,000 steps a day. Running errands? She turned that into an Olympic sport: “Running Errands with Mimi”. She golfed, knitted, puzzled, and was an excellent cook. She was a Phillies, Eagles, and Sixers enthusiast; however, she was the most avid (and entertaining) fan at her husband’s wrestling and lacrosse matches and her grandchildren’s sporting events. She adored her three grandchildren and looked forward to their daily “what’s new with you” telephone check-ins.
Sharon was a force of nature! She was the original “Hot Mom” who brightened any room she walked into. She was a spitfire; sassy…fiesty…. vivacious…and quite possibly one of the most stubborn women on earth. With all the fire she possessed, she was also kind and generous. She befriended grocery store employees and restaurant staff. She seemingly knew everyone and made those around her feel special. You were a lucky soul to receive an invite to Sharon’s dinner table or a beautifully hand-knit baby blanket.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 50 years, Michael Colley; her children, Gina Colley-Holgate (Gregg) and Kara (Steve); her grandchildren, Luke, Evan, and Sullivan; and her sister, Brenda Rhinehart (Scott), Ted Shultz, and Tom Shultz (Robin), and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Sunday November 23, 2025, from 1:00 - 2:15pm at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 N. Church St. West Chester, PA 19380, 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com, Followed by her Service at 2:30pm. Burial will be private.
