Sharon A. Sylvester

Sharon A. Sylvester, 77 of West Chester, PA passed away Sunday February 22, 2026 at Exton Post Acute in Exton.

She was the wife of the late Harold H. "Buddy" Sylvester Jr.

Born September 5, 1948 in Chester, PA she was the daughter of the late Walter & Ruth Cochrane.

Sharon grew up in Boothwyn, PA and graduated from Chichester high school and attended West Chester State College. She played trumpet in Chichester marching band and West Chester’s concert band.

She worked as a letter carrier for the West Chester post office for 15 years.

She was a member of the stage crew for the Hershey’s Mill Players. She enjoyed studying West Chester history, geaneolgy and reading.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Anne Marie Spina (Vince), her son James Sylvester (Jen) grandchildren Caitlin Novrit (Roger) Amy Sarmento (Cauli), Anna Sylvester, and two great grandchildren Samuel and Gabriel.

She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband.

There will be a celebration of life on  Saturday, April 25, 2026  from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith and Boyd funeral home, 410 N. Church St. West Chester, PA 19380. 

Interment will be private. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Brandywine Valley SPCA .
