Sara McCormick Richardson

Sara McCormick Richardson, 88 of Downingtown, PA passed away Saturday February 8, 2025 at Rosewood Gardens in Broomall, PA.

She was the wife of the late Edward J. Richardson Sr.

Born August 7, 1936 in West Chester, PA she was the daughter of the late Frank McCormick and the late Grace Brittin McCormick.

Sara grew up in West Chester PA and graduated from St. Agnes in West Chester in 1954

She worked as a homemaker, a librarian at St. Agnes School and then worked at the Daily Local News in the distribution department.

Sara was a member of St. Agnes Parish in West Chester and St. Joesph’s in Downingtown PA.

She enjoyed reading mysteries, Sudoku and jigsaw puzzles, watching NCIS, Blue Bloods, Hallmark movies and Guiding Light, spending time with her family and enjoying a Coors light or two.

She is survived by her daughter, Virginia (Ginger) Richardson, son, Ed Richardson (wife Louise Richardson) and grandson, Patrick Louis Richardson.

She was preceded in death by sister, Virginia McCormick, sister, Elizabeth McCormick, brother, Frank J. McCormick, Jr., sister, Mary Grace nee McCormick, sister, Grace DiProsperso nee McCormick, sister, Katherine Fairweather nee McCormick sister Nancy Wallace nee McCormick and  brother, Richard McCormick 

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Monday, February 17, 2025 from 10:00 am - 10:45 am at St. Joseph Church 322 Manor Ave. Downingtown, PA 19335; followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 am.

Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery West Chester PA.
