Rose Ann Wehr, nee, Turrano, passed peacefully to eternal rest on June 15, 2022, at 90 years young.
She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years Frank E. Wehr.
Rose was a long-time resident of Summit Hill, Pa. and later West Chester, Pa. where she lived near her children Ruthann Waldie (George) and Frank Wehr (Beverly) and her 5 grandchildren Samantha Brown (Michael), George Waldie III (Katie), Frank Earl Wehr II(Lauren), Amanda Wehr and Alexis Wehr.
Rose had 5 great grandchildren; Sienna Rose Brown, Zachary Earl Waldie, Frank Earl Wehr III, Iyla Beverly Wehr, and Madilyn Rose Waldie who predeceased her.
Rose was born in Nesquehoning, Pa. and was the daughter of Michael Saverio Turrano and Grace Ouly Turrano. The youngest of 6, she loved her brothers Joseph, Anthony, Benjamin, and Vincent Turrano and her sister Mary Lauser. She was a graduate of Nesquehoning High School and Cosmetology School in Reading, Pa. Rose worked for many years as a hairdresser and taught cosmetology at the Carbon County Vo-tech school. In later years she worked in a variety of positions but spent two decades as a Real Estate Agent in the Poconos.
Rose campaigned along side her husband in the 60’s and served as president of the Jeffersonian Democratic Women’s Club. She taught CCD for St Joseph’s in Summit Hill and volunteered with the local Brownie Troop and other organizations.
Rose was an avid oil painter and enjoyed taking classes and her paintings are wonderful memories of vacations and still life. She was a founding member of the Garnet Valley Community Chorus, now the West Chester Community Chorus and enjoyed going to CURVES with friends.
Rose was a Breast Cancer Survivor and in her final years suffered from Dementia. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Unite for Her at 127 East Chestnut St. First floor, West Chester, PA 19380; uniteforher.org or the Alzheimer’s Association at act.alz.org
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation from 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM on Thursday June 23, 2022 at Mary’s Chapel, Lincoln Highway and Ship Road, Exton, PA, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.
Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery West Chester, PA.
