Rose Ann Kosits Obituary

Rose Ann Kosits, 84, of Thornton, PA passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Merrill Gardens in Glen Mills, PA.

Born February 1, 1940 in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph John Kosits and the late Rose Gerbavsits Kosits and sister of the late Joseph Edward Kosits.

Rose Ann grew up in Queens. She attended Newtown Agricultural High School (Flushing, NY) and graduated in 1957. She later attended St. Catherine Nursing School (Brooklyn, NY) and graduated in 1960.

She worked as a registered nurse for 49 years. She was a head nurse and instrumental in opening the CCU at Parkway Hospital in New York in the late 1960s. She was phenomenal at reading EKGs and often doctors would try to stump her and fail every time.  She spent her last years being a nurse at Stonegate’s in Greenville, DE before she retired. She was above all else, in her identity, a nurse and despite retirement, nursing was her passion and she never stopped trying to take care of others.

Rose Ann loved to read, enjoyed crime shows, especially Blue Bloods, and was devoted to her dogs.

Rose Ann is survived by her nieces, Adriana Kosits-DeMarco (Greg) of Thornton, Michele Smith (Samuel) of Sneads Ferry, Nicole Kosits of Downingtown, and her sister-in-law, Meredith Kosits of Downingtown. In addition, she is survived by her grand nieces and nephews, Ashley Schaeffer (Thomas), Melissa Gambs, Tyler Gambs (Holly), Alex Gambs (Lexi), Ethan Kosits, Jake DeMarco, Sydney DeMarco, and Joshua DeMarco.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Graveside Service Friday, April 5, 2024 at 11:00 am at Philadelphia Memorial Park, 124 Phoenixville Pike, Frazer PA 19355.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lucky Dawg Animal Rescue, 489 Church Road, Avondale, PA 19311.
