Robin Jamison Turner, 84, of Vero Beach, Florida and West Chester, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Paoli Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Arthur V. Turner and the late Lt. Col. Charles E. Harris.
Born March 3, 1937 at Selfridge Field, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Col. Frank G. Jamison and the late Claire Lindsay Jamison.
Robin was a graduate of George Washington High School in Alexandria, Virginia, and Hood College in Frederick, Maryland. Her father was an Army and Air Force officer, and she grew up an “Air Force Angel,” living in many places, including Alaska, Hawaii and Japan. After she married Charlie, an Army officer, she and her young family continued moving around the US, ultimately settling in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania near Valley Forge Army Hospital. Several years after Charlie passed away, she met and married Art, and after her children finished high school and college, they retired to Florida together.
Robin was an avid bridge player, a private pilot, and a good friend to many. She was an enthusiastic volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, and she loved the Vero Beach Yacht Club, where she was proud to be its longest standing member. She loved travelling and spending time with her beloved grandchildren, two joys she combined with many family holiday trips. Robin was outgoing, gregarious, kind, and she loved meeting new people and making new friends. She was fond of saying, “I’ve had a great life, so blessed with my family and friends.”
She is survived by her children, Tracy L. Harris and her husband, Glenn S. Newsome, Charles E. Harris and his wife, Elizabeth, and Stephen A. Harris, and by her grandchildren, Chip, Lindsay, Christopher, Jamie, Drew, Matthew, Shannon, and Darcy.
She was predeceased by her sister, Gayle Jamison.
