Robert (Bob) Van Tassel Obituary

Early, on the morning of September 2, 2020, Robert (Bob) Van Tassel (age 78) answered our Savior’s call to Heaven, passing peacefully and with grace, surrounded by family. He is remembered as a loving devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Elizabeth Van Tassel; daughter, Amy; wife of 42 years, Katherine (Kathie); and brother, Gerry. He is survived by wife of 15 years, Lavern Farley Van Tassel; and his children, Marcia, Peter (Kathy), Sharon (Michael) Jungkurth, and Paul; siblings Terry (Lynn), Kurt, Karen (Neal) Kerlin, and Sandy (Jim) Schwedler; proud grandfather of Kate (Jack) Dill; Molly Wark; Allison, Erica, and Steven Jungkurth; Kayla (Mike) Hains; Cole and Caleb Van Tassel; Amanda and Samantha Van Tassel.

Bob spent most of his career in sales in the paper industry, but he will be remembered by those who loved him, to be the happiest and most vibrant, when together with family and friends, enjoying a beautiful day, a good meal, and one another’s company, or while hunting or fishing, appreciating the simplicity and beauty of nature.

Heaven is just a little bit better, and our world, just a touch lonelier, with Bob’s passing.

Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Checks made out to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation can be mailed to P.O.
