Robert Hoeveler Obituary

Robert W. Hoeveler, 92 of West Chester, PA passed away peacefully Wednesday August 25, 2021 at Jenner's Pond in West Grove.

He was the beloved husband of 65 years to Joanna M. Hoeveler (Kumiega).

Born May 28, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of the late Harold J. Hoeveler and the late Marie B. Grim Hoeveler.

Robert graduated West Philadelphia Catholic High School for boys in 1947.

He joined Penna. National Guard 28th Division in 1948. He was then activated into the U.S. Army and served at Camp Attbury, IN. He served in the artillery unit in the Korean War and attained the rank of sergeant. He was appointed to the Selective Service Board by the president in 1983.

Robert worked as a District Manager for the O.M. Scott Company in Florida covering 9 states until 1965. He then came back to the Philadelphia area with the Black and Decker Manufacturing Company as Regional Manager of the Northeast.

He built and operated Ridley Court Apartments in 1969. He was very active in real estate in Pennsylvania and held his real estate license for over 25 years. He established the Sunny Hill Laundry center in Woodlyn, PA in 1974 and grew the business into one of the finest Launder centers in eastern PA; having won several awards for its excellence in operation. The business then expanded to a commercial linen operation as well as the laundromat. He then sold the business in 1998 after having run it with his wife for over 20 years. After retirement, Robert was still active in real estate representing clients in the purchase and sale in real estate. He was also an active member of the St. Agnes church, serving as an usher for 25 years.  

Robert loved to travel. He and Joanna traveled to every state in continental U.S. and Hawaii. They also toured Europe and Australia on many occasions.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, son Robert W. Hoeveler, Jr. (Tammy), daughter, Lori Samolsky (Warren), daughter, Kim Tracy, and grandchildren Caprice, Devin, Kevin, Shannon, Brett, Cody,and Meghan.

Relatives and Friends are invited to his visitation on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 9:00 am - 9:45 am at St. Agnes Church 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, PA 19380; followed by his Funeral Service at 10:00 am.

Interment will be in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery Springfield, PA.
