Robert Emmett Hayes

Robert Emmett Hayes, 77 of Exton, PA passed away Sunday September 1, 2024 at his home in Exton.

He was the husband of Carol Ann Inskip Hayes.

Born June 11, 1947 in Norristown, PA he was the son of the late Gerald A. Hayes and the late Pauline Looby Hayes.

Emmett grew up in Norristown, PA and graduated from Bishop Kenrick High School. He attended both Delaware County Community College and Montgomery County Community College.

He was self-employed for many years as owner/operator in long haul transportation businesses that encompassed coast to coast and Canadian customers.

Emmett was a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus member. He enjoyed hunting, boating, fishing, crabbing and cooking.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Melissa McWilliams (married to James Rice), grandchildren, Madeline and Matthew McWilliams and his sister, Sarah Graeber (married to Gary Graeber).

He was preceded in death by brother, Jerry Hayes, survived by his wife Beverly Hayes.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 from 10:00 am - 10:45 am at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 North Church Street West Chester, PA 19380; followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 am.

Interment will be private.
