Rita W. Wiggins

Rita W. Wiggins, 103, of Exton, PA passed away Thursday June 12, 2025 at the Exton Senior Living in Exton.

She was the wife of the late Allan Wiggins Jr.

Born July 8, 1921 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Bronislaw Wonsiewicz and the late Jadwiga Gorska Wonsiewicz.

Rita grew up in Salamanca, NY and graduated from Salamanca High School. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree and worked for both DuPont and the Devereux Foundation. Later, she served as a Teacher’s Assistant for the Chester County School District.

Rita was a devoted member of St. Agnes Church in West Chester, PA.

She was preceded in death by her husband Allan Adair Wiggins, Jr. and her son Allan Adair Wiggins III.

She is survived by her children: Susanna Jones (Robert), Michael Wiggins (Genevieve), Kristin Estill (Barry), Paul Wiggins (fiancé Kelly Lovy), and Mark Wiggins. She was a proud grandmother to Laura, Molly, and Hannah and 4 great-grandchildren.

A brilliant lady with a sharp wit, she was a voracious reader, an incredible baker and talented knitter. She mastered anything she turned her hand to. But her greatest commitment was to her family.  Rita took charge of everything when her husband moved the family to Argentina. She even bought text books which she used to teach her children as they sailed to the new continent.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 10:00 am - 10:45 am at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 North Church Street, West Chester, PA 19380; followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery West Chester, PA.
