Richard J. Dixon, known as "Dick" by his family and friends, of West Chester, PA, passed away on April 17, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on August 4, 1932, Dick proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. A master electrician by trade, he was a longtime member of IBEW Local 24.
A devout Catholic, Dick was a dedicated parishioner of Saint Agnes Church in West Chester. He was also an lifetime member of the Fame Fire Company, the Knights of Columbus, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), where he contributed his time and energy to his community throughout his life. Known for his playful, witty, and often straight-to-the-point personality, Dick was the give you the shirt off his back type of person who was always available to lend a hand to family, friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his wife Grace, his son Michael, and his brother Michael. He is survived by his brother Joseph, his children Patricia Mains (Gary), Katherine Dixon (Angelo), Mark Dixon (Lillian), and Donna Dixon (Dennis), six grandchildren, Shaun Mains, Ryan Mains, Shannon Quiles, Justin Mains, Kyle Dixon, Joseph Dixon and seven great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation, Wednesday April 22, 2026 from 5:30pm - 7:30pm at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 N. Church St. West Chester, PA. Funeral Mass will be on Thursday April 23, 2026 at 11am at the St. Agnes Church 233 West Gay St. West Chester, PA 19380. Interment will be at the St. Agnes Cemetery.
