Richard (Ritch) Tygh, 74 of West Chester, PA passed away Sunday, August 31, 2025 at Chester County Hospital in West Chester.
He was the husband of Mary Tygh (Piorkowski).
Born April 3, 1951 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Francis Tygh and the late Katherine A. Shields Capaldi.
Ritch grew up in Philadelphia and graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School. He had a wealth of experiences (e.g., meat cutter, baker, retail manager, hardware associate, furniture restorer, bookkeeper) before working as a tax accountant. Owner and operator of Ritch Associates Inc., he earned his accounting degree from West Chester University and was an enrolled agent (EA) for almost 20 years.
Richard was a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Church and The Pennsylvania Society of Tax & Accounting Professionals.
He enjoyed bird watching, cooking, crossword puzzles, gardening, Jeopardy!, music, Philly sports, and woodworking.
In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his children, Mac and Jeremy Tygh; sibling, Kathie Maychak; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Services and Interment will be private.
