Richard S. Sasin

Richard S. Sasin, age 74, of West Chester, PA, born and raised in Philadelphia, passed away April 28th, 2022.  He died peacefully surrounded by family, after a courageous 14-year battle with cancer.  Beloved husband of Janet (nee Volpe); loving father of Jeff Sasin (Jennifer) and Andi Bolesta (Michael); devoted grandfather of Lucy and Emma Bolesta, and Brynn and William Sasin.  Predeceased by his mother Sofia Markiewicz and father Dr. Richard Sasin. 

After graduating from Father Judge High School, Rich studied Business Administration at Drexel University, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, and later their Alumni Board.  He held various offices, and was very involved in inter-fraternity sports.  

Rich spent his career in industrial sales.  He was an avid sports enthusiast, supporting all of the Philadelphia professional teams, as well as many area college teams.  He enjoyed years of coaching, umpiring, and refereeing many youth sports, including tee-ball, GVLL baseball and softball, Biddy Basketball, WC United soccer and PIAA high school sports.    

In retirement, Rich was an active member of SS. Simon & Jude Catholic Church and a Fourth-Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his four grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, 10:00am – 11:15 am followed by a Funeral Mass 11:30 a.m. at SS. Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Court West Chester, PA 19382. Interment following at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
