Rev. John A. Franey

Rev. John A. Franey (09.01.33-10.14.23) was born to and raised by the late John B. and Lillian Binley Franey, in Philadelphia, PA.

He attended St. Columba School, Roman Catholic High School, LaSalle College, and St. Charles Seminary. He was ordained priest in 1963 and served as parochial vicar in several parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. He served as pastor of St. Eleanor Parish, Collegeville, until he was appointed parochial vicar with senior priest status at St. Agnes Parish, West Chester, from which he retired from active ministry in 2008.

He will be missed by his many cousins and lay and clerical friends!

Relatives, friends, and clergy are invited to the Reception of the Body on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 10 a.m. followed by a viewing from 10:15 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. at St. Eleanor Church, 647 Locust Street, Collegeville, PA 19426; The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m.

Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, 235 Matsonford Rd, Conshohocken, PA 19428.
