Raymond P. Grazel

Raymond P. Grazel at the age of 86 passed away on September 22, 2021 at his home in Hersheys Mill, West Chester.

Ray was the husband of Constance E. Grazel (Clifford).

Born in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania, Ray was the son of the late Raymond Grazel and the late Eleanor Alspach Grazel.

Ray grew up in Philadelphia and Upper Darby and graduated from Upper Darby High School . Ray had many fond memories of his time at Upper Darby High where he was captain of the school’s Soccer Team. Ray was involved in many sports and activities and was an Eagle Scout.

With an honorable discharge, Ray served proudly in the U.S. Army earning a Good Conduct Medal and numerous other awards for his exemplary service.

In 1964, Ray began his career with the Upper Darby Police Department as a patrol officer and member of the motorcycle detail. Dedicated to his work, Ray became a detective and served in that position until his retirement in 1992. He went on to join Maintenance at Camilla Hall Nursing Home and enjoyed the time he spent working for the Sisters of the IHM.

Ray is survived by his wife Constance E. Grazel, his sons Raymond, William and Stephen Grazel, his daughter Jennifer Barr (Grazel), ten grandchildren, his brothers John and James, step-sons Gerald, Christopher and Gregory Chalmers and five step-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Celebration of Life on Monday, September 27, 2021. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at SS. Peter and Paul Church, 1325 E. Boot Road, West Chester, PA 19380, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.

Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery Media, PA.
