Ralph Louis Scalcione

Ralph Louis Scalcione, age 68, of West Chester, PA passed away peacefully at home, Friday, October 15, 2021 after a nearly three-year battle with cancer. Born on May 20, 1953 in Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Ernest Scalcione and is survived by his mother, Rita (Cinque). 

Ralph grew up the oldest of five children in Deer Park, NY and graduated from Castleton University in 1976. After college, Ralph worked as a Credit Manager for Snap-on Tools where he met his eventual wife of 40 years, Janet (Spinelli). Together, they moved to Pennsylvania in the early ‘90s to raise their two children, Matthew and Amanda.

An avid baseball fan, Ralph enjoyed any game he’d find on TV, but his team was always the Yankees. Unfortunately, his favorite football team was the Jets so he’s still waiting on their big win (or really any win). He also loved reading, a challenging crossword puzzle, and playing golf with his friends and family.

In addition to his wife, Janet, and mother, Rita, Ralph is survived by his son, Matthew Scalcione, husband to Deepa (Gupta) and father of Olivia and Sophia; daughter Amanda Scalcione; siblings Josephine (Thomas), Frank (Sharon), Gregory (Diane), and Christopher, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Dena Scalcione, wife of Christopher.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, 410 N Church St, West Chester, PA on Thursday, October 21, 2021. Visitation will be held from 10-10:45 a.m., funeral service 11-noon, and a celebration of life luncheon to follow.

Those who are planning to attend the funeral are kindly asked to wear a mask during the visitation and service.
