Norbert “Norb” Sinclair, Jr. 68, of West Chester, PA, passed away at his home on April 9, 2026, surrounded by those who loved and cared for him. He was a big man with an even bigger personality, and he loved deeply all those around him.
Norb grew up in Fairfax, VA, he graduated from George C. Marshall High School and attended George Mason University for Business. He had a long accounting career in both the corporate and government roles, retiring from the County of Chester in 2022.
Norb is survived by his wife, Deb, and their son, Matt, who was not only his son but his best friend. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Diane and sister-in-law Carolyn along with his siblings Barbara Sinclair and David Sinclair, and his nieces, Gwen (Zack) and Charlotte. He will be greatly missed by his many dear friends, including Dave Wholey and Carmen Fogliano. He was preceded in death by his parents Norbert and Mary Sinclair.
For those who knew Norb, you knew the things he loved most: Bruce Springsteen, the Grateful Dead, tie-dye shirts, the beaches of Wildwood Crest, and football. A devoted fan, Norb, and his friends traveled across the country to attend as many Springsteen and Dead concerts as possible—even throughout the challenges of his later years. While he once rooted for Washington, he eventually “flew the coop” and proudly landed in the Eagles nest, celebrating their Super Bowl victory with enthusiasm. On any given Sunday, you could hear him from the family room, passionately cheering on his team.
Norb brought joy wherever he went. When asked about his long beard, he would smile and say, “The kids think I’m Santa Claus!” He embraced that role fully donning a Santa suit, handing out candy canes, and spreading joy to neighborhood children and friends alike.
Above all, Norb cherished time with his son Matt. The two were truly inseparable watching tv shows, listening to music, and sharing countless laughs. Matt took great pride in being there for his father, caring for him through his critical illnesses. Their bond was something special, and it will be deeply missed.
To honor Norb’s request, guests are asked to wear their favorite tie-dye, Bruce Springsteen, or Grateful Dead shirt. If you do not have one, feel free to come in casual attire. (i.e.: no suits/ties etc.)
Norb will be sorely missed but fondly remembered for his laughter, his loyalty, and the joy he brought to so many.
Deb and Matt are deeply grateful for the compassionate care Norb received from the doctors and nurses at the Chester County Hospital and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, especially Drs. Saroha and Surkis.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 from 11:00 am – 12:45 pm at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 North Church Street West Chester, PA 19380, followed by his Funeral Service at 1:00 pm.
Interment will be private.
