Myrlan E. Dowell, II

Mrylan E. Dowell II, 41 of Landenberg, PA passed away on May 7, 2021, ending a long battle with addiction.

He was the son of Myrlan E. Dowell and Linda S. Dowell (Cornett) also of Landenberg Pennsylvania.

Born August 17, 1979 in West Chester PA, he was the 2nd of 5 children.

Affectionately known as "Gene or Brother," he graduated from Kennett High School and went on to attend HACC in Harrisburg Pennsylvania.

Gene had a great sense of humor, infectious smile, loved his family and friends, but most of all he loved his son Kaiden. 

Gene was a son, brother, dad, uncle, grandson, cousin and nephew. His struggles with addiction took away the Gene that we all knew and loved.  Many attempts had been made throughout his life to heal from this disease but unfortunately, he succumbed to this demon.

Gene is survived by his parents Myrlan and Linda Dowell, two brothers, Lucas (Jennifer) Dowell and Nicholas Dowell, sister, Heather Dowell, his son, Kaiden, two nieces, Rylee and Devon Dowell, maternal grandmother, Shirley Cornett Grey (Kelcie), several aunts, uncles and cousins as well.

He is preceded in death by paternal grandparents Mrylan and Eula Dowell, maternal grandfather Arlie Cornett and brother Matthew Dowell.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 from 11am – 11:45 am followed by his funeral service at 12:00 pm at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, 410 N. Church Street, West Chester, PA 19380.  

Interment will be private.
