Millie DiBussolo, 96 of West Chester, PA passed away Sunday May 31, 2020 in West Chester.
She was the wife of the late Mario DiBussolo, whom she married in 1950. They were married for 52 years and had two children, Frank and Joseph.
Born in South Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Bonovolonta and the late Josephine Bonovolonta. She was the youngest of three children who, as they grew older, helped their parents run their candy store on 9th Street. She graduated from Horace Howard Furness High School and continued to work in the candy store.
After getting married and raising two children in South Philly, Millie worked as a salesperson for Lit Brothers Department Store during the 1960s to 70s. During the 1990s she worked part-time for the P&S Ravioli Company. After her husband Mario retired, they moved to West Chester to live with their son Joe, his wife Sue and their children Julia and Patrick.
Millie and Mario were members of the West Chester Senior Center. After Mario passed away, Millie moved to the Hickman Friends Senior Community and lived there for 15 years. She enjoyed being with her family more than anything else, especially for epic Italian dinners to celebrate birthdays and holidays. She also enjoyed music, bingo, cards, and social activities at the Hickman Community.
Millie is survived by her sons, Frank DiBussolo (Donna) and Joseph DiBussolo (Katie), grandchildren Julia DiBussolo (Zac) and Patrick DiBussolo (Holly), great-grandchildren Zia (Julia’s son) and Evie (Patrick’s daughter). She is also survived by her step granddaughters Emily Michelle Sterling (Dan) and Monique Everroad (William) and step great-grandchildren Amani, Elise and Noah Sterling.
Millie was preceded in death by her husband Mario DiBussolo, sister Mary Cartiglia, brother Anthony Bonovolonta and daughter-in-law Sue DiBussolo (Joe).
Services will be private.
Interment will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery & Garden Mausoleum Yeadon PA.
