Michael “Mike” J. Mastrangelo, 83 of West Chester, PA died Thursday August 24, 2023 at his home.
Born March 24, 1940 in Pottstown, PA, he was the son of the late Dominic “Nick” J. Mastrangelo and the late Esther G. Simmons Mastrangelo.
Mike was a life-long resident of West Chester and graduated from West Chester High School in 1958. Upon graduating from high school, he began working at Wyeth Laboratory in West Chester as a pharmaceutical technician which was the start of a 44-year career in the pharmaceutical industry. He retired in 2002 from GlaxoSmithKline and finished out his work life as a real estate agent for Prudential Preferred.
He was an avid sports enthusiast his entire life having played both baseball and basketball for West Chester High School. He and his father bowled together for many years and participated in amateur bowling tournaments across the country. Once he stopped bowling, he took up golf which he enjoyed for many years. A Phillies and Eagles fan, Mike enjoyed not only watching the games but also the many conversations he had about these two teams as well as other sports with his niece Alison and grandson Brandon.
He is survived by his dear companion Hollie Myers; daughters Lisa Clark and Michelle Williams; grandchildren Melissa Heindl (Tim) and Sean Mastrangelo; great grandchildren Derek Mastrangelo, Alexis Mastrangelo, Harley Mastrangelo, Everett Heindl and Eugene Heindl; Hollie’s son Jimmy Myers and grandson Brandon Myers. He is also survived by his sister Linda Boucher (Bill), and brother Barry Mastrangelo (Franny) as well as his niece Alison Mastrangelo and nephew Barry Mastrangelo, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his son Dominic "Nicky" J. Mastrangelo, grandson Keith Mastrangelo and Hollie’s son Jeffrey Myers.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Thursday September 7, 2023 from 10:30-11:15am at St. Agnes Church 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, PA 19380, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30am. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery West Chester PA.
