Mary L. “Mary Lou” Gillespie, 81, of West Chester, PA, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025, at the Chester County Hospital.
She was married to her beloved husband, Robert C. Gillespie
Born on December 6, 1943, in Upper Darby, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward Gach and the late Mary Donahue Gach.
She grew up in Drexel Hill and graduated from Prendergast High School in 1961.
Mary was a devoted homemaker whose greatest joy was caring for her family. She loved cooking homemade meals, watching TV, attending church, and spending time with her loved ones. A woman of strong Catholic faith, she was a parishioner of SS. Peter and Paul and supported causes close to her heart, Including Prolife and Birthright.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Jeannine Marie Gillespie, Therese Marie Gillespie, Mary Louise (Dan) Rivera, Colleen Marie (Tim) LaBlanc, Mark Edward (Gretchen) Gillespie, Bobby Gillespie, James Edward (Terri) Gillespie, and John E. Gillespie; her grandchildren Tim, Luke, Claire, Ian, Rosie, Erin, Mark, David, Robert, Peter, and Lily, as well as her numerous great-grandchildren; brothers, Edward Gach and Joe Gach, and her sisters, Sue Perez and Eileen O’Donnell.
Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love and family devotion will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Services and Interment will be private.
