Mary French Davis

Mary French Davis of Maris Grove, Glen Mills, PA died on December 6, 2025 at the age of 93.

Born in Claymont, DE, Mary was the daughter of John Alonzo French and Ann Roe French Rhodes.

Mary graduated from Pierre S. DuPont High School and Goldey College. Following graduation, she worked as an executive secretary at Wilmington Trust. She was later employed by DuPont until her retirement in 1985.

The family moved to Marshallton, PA in 1958. She was very active in the local community serving as a girl scout leader, president of the West Bradford school PTA, the local election board and in various other volunteer positions. Mary was an avid card player and was a member of multiple bridge clubs.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Paul Preston Davis, their daughter Cathy Ann Harris and sister, Jeanne French.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Barbara Davis Schmidt (Christopher); grandchildren, Stephen Schmidt (Leah), Christina Wisser (Ken), Rick Grubb (Carrie), Melanie Owens (Bill) and Lisa Abele (Miguel); seven great grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Graveside Service on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 11:00 am at Bradford Cemetery, 521 Northbrook Road West Chester PA 19382.
