Mary Palladino Roberts, 99, died peacefully on Saturday, November 22, 2025, surrounded by her family. She spent her last years at The Hickman Assisted Living Facility in West Chester, PA, where her children visited her daily and where she was cared for with the utmost respect and kindness.
Mary was predeceased in 2012 by her husband, Alfred D. Roberts, with whom she shared sixty-six years of marriage. Their love for each other gave us a lifelong example of devotion and commitment. She is also predeceased by a dear son-in-law, Robert Pierce.
Born on April 16, 1926, in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, she was the youngest of the eight children of Amalia and Tommaso Palladino. She was predeceased by her sister Anna, and her brothers Fred, Nick, Charles, Angelo, William, and Frank. After her graduation from Pottstown High School, she worked at New England Auto Products and as a bookkeeper for her brothers' business. She was a member of Saint Aloysius Church before moving to West Chester in 1959.
Mary was a faithful member of Saint Agnes Catholic Church in West Chester where she attended Mass regularly, volunteered in numerous capacities, and made lifelong friends. She had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother and to praying the Rosary.
Her most cherished role, however, was as mother of her seven children, grandmother of seventeen, and great-grandmother of twenty-five, all of whom will remember her with the deepest love. She was never happier than when her family gathered around her table that stretched, when needed, well into her living room, celebrating a holiday or birthday or just being together.
Mary's kindness and generosity reached far beyond her family. When her children were grown, she shared her many talents with others, teaching countless nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and friends how to sew, knit, crochet, cook, and decorate cakes. She baked cakes and pies too many to count for family members and friends and always delivered a meal to celebrate a birth or remember a family in mourning. She taught a sewing class at Bishop Shanahan High School and held fashion shows for the girls to display their finished projects. Giving brought her great joy.
Together with her husband, she devoted almost three decades of her life to volunteering at the Saint Agnes Parish Day Room, a center whose mission is to provide a daytime gathering place, meals, clothing, and support for those in need. She loved "her people" there and gave her whole heart and daily commitment the Day Room's purpose.
Mary is survived by one sister-in-law, Louise Shaner Roberts; her seven children: Frances Pierce; Marcia Gregorio (Laurence); John Roberts (Patricia); Christine Harmon (Alfred); Judith Deppen (Paul); Beth Kotarski (Mark); and Susan Fiorentino (Christopher); her seventeen grandchildren: Joseph Gregorio (Ilene Wong); Andrew Pierce (Leah); Julie Gregorio (Andrew Stout); Joshua Pierce; Elena Gregorio (Steven James); Vincent Grim (Therese); Michael Harmon (Colbi); Daniel Harmon (Felicia Bowman); Joanna Grim; Matthew Harmon (Meghan); Benjamin Grim; Gregory Fiorentino (Erin); Christopher Harmon (Katherine); Diana Fiorentino Marlin (Devin); Emily Kotarski Friedman (Drayt); Kaitlyn Kotarski Connor (Richard); Jeffrey Fiorentino (Katie); and twenty-five great-grandchildren: Clara, Emily, and Violet Pierce; Olivia and Gabriel Gregorio; Amalia and Alfie Gregorio-Stout; Kiefer and Robert Grim; Jackson and Benjamin Harmon; Bella Harmon; Grant and Adaline Harmon; Clara, Caleb, and Lydia Fiorentino; Mia and Julian Harmon; Bennett and Annalie Marlin; Iyla and Rowan Friedman; and Henry and Grace Connor.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests honoring Mary through donations to the "Saint Agnes Day Room."
