Martha L. Chiumbu-Maseko

Martha Lindiwe Chiumbu-Maseko, 81 of West Chester, PA went home to be with The Lord on Tuesday June 16, 2026 at her home.

She was the wife of the late Haggai Farai Chiumbu-Maseko.  Born June 6, 1945 in Chegutu, Zimbabwe, she was the daughter of the late Phibeon Mahlahla and the late Alice Mahlahla (née Manquma).

Martha grew up in Msengezi District in Chegutu and graduated from Tekwane High School, in Plumtree Zimbabwe and Ranch House College Harare Zimbabwe.   She was involved in athletics such as high jump and hurdles.  She worked as an Administrative Officer for the government of Zimbabwe for 20 years when she retired.  She was also and business owner in the cutlery industry and a consultant in the financial industry.

Martha was a member of Northside Community Church, in Borrowdale Harare where she was ordained as a Deacon and Chairperson of Ruwadzano Women’s group.  She later moved to Anglican Church in Avondale Harare, where she was part of Mothers’ Union and section 2 Home-Group.  She enjoyed sewing, travelling, sports (especially American Football, her favorite team & player being the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes), and spending quality time with Family and Friends.

Martha is survived by her children, Maureen M. Chiumbu-Maseko, Harry H. Chiumbu-Maseko (Jerisa), Audrey P. Murasiki, née Chiumbu-Maseko (Terence), Aubrey K. Chiumbu-Maseko (Berenice) and daughter-in-law, Cassandra J. Chiumbu-Maseko; grandchildren: Lindiwe, Thandeka, Zandile & Ayanda Chiumbu-Maseko; Takunda & Tanaka Murasiki; Kieon Chiumbu-Maseko; Alexis Howard-Orr.  

She was preceded in death by her husband Haggai (Sr.) Farai Chiumbu-Maseko, son, Haggai (Jr.) N. Chiumbu-Maseko; her parents, Phibeon Mahlahla & Alice Mahlahla (née Manquma); all her siblings; Lovemore, Rachael, Stanley, Ruth and Lambert.    

Martha will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, her stories and the love she shared with so many.  Her legacy will continue to live on in the heart whose lives she touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Friday, June 19, 2026 from 10:00 am - 10:45 am at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 North Church Street West Chester, PA 19380, followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00 am.

Interment will be private.
