Marlyn Pizii Hughes

Marlyn Pizii Hughes, 72 years old of Newark, DE passed away Friday October 1, 2021 at Christiana Hospital in Newark.

She was the wife of the late Arnold Stanton Hughes Jr.  They were married for over 50 years.  

Born November 19, 1948 in West Chester, PA she was the daughter of the late William Pizii and the late Dorothy (Saccuto) Pizii. 

Marlyn grew up in West Chester and graduated from Henderson High School (Class 66’).  Marlyn was the social butterfly and life of every party and social event. She was an avid dancer and spent most of her younger years dancing at Anne Marie dance studio, which she later turned her love for dance into her career as a dance teacher. 

Marlyn worked as a Dance Teacher for the majority of her life and was owner/operator of The Dance Factory.  Marlyn loved teaching dance and the impact it made on countless students.

Marlyn enjoyed dancing, social events, engaging in conversations with strangers at every opportunity and the love of her family, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. 

She is survived by her sons, Troy and Christina (Duwa) Hughes, Chad Hughes and Corey Lamborn, Bret and Lindsay (Fanelli) Hughes; her 10 grandchildren, Ryan, Lauren, Jennifer, Kyle, Zachary, Jessica, Nora, Juliet, Kennedy, Delaney; along with her beloved brother, James and Karen (Zorzi) Pizii, and his children, Matt and Lindsey (Pizii) Doorey, Vincent and Leah (Olenick) Pizii, William “Will” Pizii, and Justin Rill and Maria Gramaldi. 

Services and Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a local charity of your choice.
