Obituary

Mark R. Lorenz, 57, of West Chester, entered eternal rest on Monday, November 11, 2024.

He was the husband of Mary Jane D'Eletto Lorenz and loving and devoted father of three sons, Jake Lorenz, Luke Lorenz and Sam Lorenz.

Born February 7, 1967, in Media, PA, he was the son of the late Carl Lorenz and the late Dorothy Urevich Lorenz.

Mark was a lifelong resident of West Chester. He grew up in Westtown and has resided in West Goshen since 2005. Mark was educated in the Catholic faith having attended Saints Simon and Jude, Salesianum and Villanova University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business. During his high school years and after, he was an avid bowler, often participating in and winning competitions. He was an enthusiastic sports fan. He loved following the Villanova Wildcats, Flyers, Phillies and, although not popular around here, the Dallas Cowboys. He was also a passionate supporter of his sons’ sports including Saints Peter and Paul CYO basketball, St. Agnes Stags football, Bishop Shanahan football and Dickinson College football.

He worked in sales in the paint and sundries industry having worked for or called on most paint companies including Sherwin Williams, MAB, Benjamin Moore and Pittsburgh Paints. He was a President’s Club winner in 2022.

Mark was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Church and attended Mass each week. He was strong in his faith and set a good example for his children as a devout Catholic.

Mark was always quick with a joke and delivered a punchline better than most. His quick wit and sense of humor was one of his most charming qualities. He was an auto enthusiast and was elated when he purchased his new Corvette in 2000. But he was happy to trade it in for a more family-friend vehicle when he found out in 2003 he was going to be a father for the first time.

He is also survived by a sister, Kristen Goddard, a tight circle of friends he considered family, cousins and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. He will be missed most by his constant companion and friend, Lula, a mixed breed rescue dog. He has cared tenderly for her since adopting her in 2017.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Monday, November 18, 2024, from 9:30 am - 10:45 am at the SS. Peter & Paul Church 1325 E. Boot Rd. West Chester, PA 19380 followed by his Memorial Mass at 11am. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Mark's name to the  SS. Peter & Paul Annual Fund.
