Marjorie G. Sweeney

Marjorie G. Sweeney, 92, a lifetime resident of West Chester PA, passed away on November 23, 2020 at Sunrise Senior Living of Westtown in West Chester.

She was the wife of Robert Sweeney.

Born October 4, 1928 in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late Jesse B. and Bertha H. Groff.

After graduating from West Chester Senior High School, she attended West Chester State Teachers College.

Marjorie was employed by the West Chester School District as a social worker for many years. After Retirement, she became a receptionist at Veterinary Oncology Services in West Chester, which enabled her to work with both people and animals. She was loved by all.

She was a longtime member of the West Chester Country Club.

Marge enjoyed working in her garden, sitting in the sun, walking her dogs and most of all socializing with friends whenever she could. She loved spending time in Ocean City, NJ and Hilton Head, South Carolina. An avid Penn State and Philadelphia Sports fan, you could always count on her support of these teams.

She is survived by her children, Karen Kohlmeyer, Kirk Kohlmeyer, Joel Sweeney, and her five grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter Kathi Fabe and a son Keith Kohlmeyer. Marge is also survived by brother George Groff (Lisa) and Dick Groff (Bev).

There will be a graveside memorial service on Wednesday October 6, 2021, 11:30 am at the Birmingham-Lafayette Cemetery in West Chester.
