Marilyn Lynch Buckler, of West Chester, PA, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to all who knew her, and wife of the late James W. Buckler, passed away peacefully Friday August 15, 2025, following a brief illness. She was 83 years old at the time of her passing.
Born December 15, 1941, in Darby, PA, she was the cherished daughter of the late Lewis G. Lynch and the late Esther Wise Lynch.
Marilyn grew up in Collingdale, PA, and graduated from Collingdale High School. She attended Immaculata University and Penn State University where she earned her paralegal certificate and practiced for 30 years at Montgomery McCracken Walker & Rhoads in Philadelphia, PA and then spent 16 years in private practice in Media, PA before her retirement.
Marilyn was a devoted and active member of the First Presbyterian Church of West Chester, where she faithfully served in numerous leadership and service roles throughout the years. She served as a Trustee, an Elder, and a Deacon, and was honored to take on the role of Moderator of the Deacons. As a dedicated member of Presbyterian Women, Marilyn served as both Moderator and Membership Chairperson, nurturing community activities and encouraging the involvement of others. She also found fellowship and spiritual growth as a member of the Grace Circle. Her commitment to her faith and her church family was unwavering, and her legacy of service will continue to be an inspiration to others.
Marilyn was a long-time member of Radley Run Country Club where she was an avid golfer and served the club as Treasurer of the women’s golf group and as a member of the House Committee. She also participated in the Garden Club and the Book Club.
Marilyn is survived by her beloved daughter, Jennifer Hubbell, and Jennifer’s husband, Matthew; her cherished grandchildren, Karina and James; her caring sisters-in-law, Suzie Lynch and Charlene Lynch; as well as many treasured nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews who brought joy to her life. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband James W. Buckler and her three older brothers, Lewis G. Lynch, Jr, Charles T. Lynch, and Lee R. Lynch.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation on Monday, August 18, 2025, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith, & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc., 410 North Church Street, West Chester, PA 19380.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of West Chester, 130 W. Miner St., West Chester PA 19382.
The Service will be followed by Interment in Birmingham Lafayette Cemetery West Chester PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Women’s organization at First Presbyterian Church in support of their charitable missions in the West Chester community. The donations can be sent to the office of First Presbyterian Church of West Chester (address above) to the attention of ‘Grace Circle’.
