Obituary

Margaret E. (Peg) Gentry, 79, of Coatesville, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 22, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Peg was born on February 1, 1947, in West Chester, PA, to Thomas (Frank) Foster and Clara E. Pass Foster. She grew up in West Chester, attending Saint Agnes Church, and graduated from Bishop Shanahan High School in 1964.

After graduating high school, Peg worked for Burroughs Corporation for a few years before she was hired at Schramm Inc., of West Chester, where she worked for 40 years.

Throughout her life, Peg enjoyed all things related to sports. She was bowler, a score keeper for West Side Little League, and chaperon for Henderson High School Marching Band. She enjoyed playing bingo and trips to the casino. She never missed a single Philadelphia Eagles or Phillies game.

Peg will be remembered for her sharp wit, quick sarcasm, and the laughter she brought to those around her. A devoted Catholic, her faith was an important part of her life. She also shared a special bond with her caregiver, Amanda Ramos, whose companionship and care over the past three years meant so much to her. Her love for her family was unmatched, and her spirit will live on in the stories and smiles she leaves behind.

Peg is survived by her two children Dale (Laura) Gentry Sr. and Charlene Stone. She has eight beloved grandchildren: Dale Gentry Jr., Jasmine Gentry, Tiffany Pegler, Amanda Stone, Austin Stone, Shane Stone, Rachel Koch, and Roselyn Koch. She has 15 beloved great grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Frances Dickens; her nephews, Mark and Eric; and her former son-in-law, Bill Stone, who remained close to her.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 from 10:00 am - 10:45 am at St. Peter Church 2835 Manor Rd West Brandywine, PA 19320 followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 am.
