Margaret C. Sgavicchio

Margaret C. Sgavicchio, 92 of West Chester, PA passed away Tuesday February 4, 2025 at her home.

She was the wife of the late John J. Sgavicchio,Sr.

Born January 23, 1933 in West Chester, PA she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Ferri) DiMatteo.

Margaret grew up in Marshallton and graduated from West Chester High School.

She held various jobs over the years but her joy in life was her love of her family and crafting.

She was a very talented crafter with many admirers who enjoyed her beautiful and unique holiday décor.

Margaret was a parishioner of St. Agnes Church in West Chester.

Margaret is survived by her three children, John J. Sgavicchio, Jr., Severena (Robert) DiLorenzo, and Kathleen (late Benjamin) Minnick.  She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, Jules Sgavicchio (Emily), Bianca Sgavicchio,  Angela Sgavicchio, Joel DiLorenzo (Lucy), Brianna DiLorenzo, Jessica Coleman (Kevin Sr.), Jamie Pugliese (Jason), Nicole Minnick, and Monica DeVece (William). She was also blessed with eleven great  grandchildren, Arianna, Jayden, Angelo, Jason, Ava, Sienna, Kevin Jr., Joseph, Giuliana, Gianna and Dominic.

Along with her many nieces and nephews, she is also survived by cousin Mary Boninu and Nancy DiMatteo.

She was preceded in death by her husband John J. Sgavicchio, Sr., daughter Deborah Sgavicchio, brother Paul DiMatteo, brother Albert DiMatteo, and sister Frances Russo (DiMatteo).

The family would like to thank Dr. Gregg L. Neithardt and staff, and also Carla Trebino for the many years of care, compassion and dedication.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Friday, February 14, 2025 from 9:00 am – 9:45 am at St. Agnes Church 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, PA 19380, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 am.

Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery West Chester PA.
