Margaret R. Hartman

Margaret Rowan Hartman, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, at the age of 87.

Born on January 7, 1939, in Riverside, New Jersey, Margaret lived a life defined by love, dedication, and family. She raised her children in Willingboro, New Jersey, where she built a warm and welcoming home and created countless cherished memories. During her retirement, she found great joy living in Ocean City, New Jersey, a place she dearly loved. In recent years, she resided in West Chester, Pennsylvania, where she treasured being close to her daughter and family.

A proud graduate of Immaculata University, Margaret dedicated her professional life to education. She loved her career as a Business Education teacher at Cinnaminson High School, where she inspired generations of students and took pride in helping young people prepare for their futures. Her commitment to learning, patience, and encouragement left a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hartman, and her son-in-law, Michael Madden Jr.

Margaret is survived by her loving children, Jim Hartman (Diana), Ken Hartman (Teri), and Christine Madden. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Andrew Hartman (Liz), Samantha (Hartman) Barry (Will), Michael Madden III, Kelly Hartman, Alexander Madden, Jason Hartman, and Kenny Hartman Jr. She was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Beckett Hartman, Rowan Hartman, and Cove Barry, who brought her immense pride and joy.

Margaret had a wonderful sense of style and a passion for fashion, shopping, and shoes. Purple was her favorite color and reflected her vibrant spirit. Whether enjoying a shopping trip, spending time at the shore, or gathering with loved ones, she found happiness in life’s simple pleasures.

Above all else, Margaret’s greatest love was her family. She was the heart of countless family celebrations, a source of wisdom and encouragement, and a constant presence in the lives of those she loved. Her kindness, strength, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family will be remembered always.

While her passing leaves a profound void, her legacy lives on through the family she cherished, the students she inspired, and the many lives she touched. Her love will continue to guide and comfort those who knew her, and her memory will remain forever in their hearts.

Throughout the rollercoaster of life, Margaret never lost her faith in God and His Goodness. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Monday, June 22, 2026 from 10:30 am - 11:15 am at SS. Philip & James Church 723 E. Lincoln Highway Exton, PA 19341, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:30.

Interment will be on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 11:00 am in St. Peter's Cemetery - Riverside, NJ.
